Soccer, Subways, Emma Roberts and More: This Week’s Decider VOD Report

Two docs and three dramas just came out on VOD and will surely keep you occupied this weekend if you’re in the mood to watch something new. This is the cream of the crop of what’s new this week, because your $3.99 and up should be spent wisely.
MOVIE: Finding Vivian Maier
WATCH IT BECAUSE: This is one of the coolest, most gorgeous documentaries of the year.
Vivian Maier worked for almost half a century as a nanny in Chicago and took over 150,000 photos during that time. This documentary tells the story of one of the greatest photographers of our time who wasn’t famous for her art until she was long gone. Just look at that! That’s a selfie if I’ve ever seen one. See where you can stream it on GoWatchIt.
MOVIE: I’ll Follow You Down

WATCH IT BECAUSE: You’re all like, “HOLY CRAP that’s the kid from The Sixth Sense!”

Yup, Haley Joel Osment is all grown up and has definitely seen better days, but he’s blossomed into a pretty solid actor nonetheless. In this mystery drama, he plays the son of a scientist who must track down his father after he disappears from a business trip abroad. See where you can stream it on GoWatchIt.
MOVIE: Next Goal Wins
WATCH IT BECAUSE: You’re one of the few people in the country who are sad the World Cup is over, and you still need your soccer fix.
They were the worst national football team in the world, but once the American Samoan soccer players got a new coach and started to fight toward a title, their game changed for good. You don’t even have to enjoy soccer to like this doc; it’s just one of those awesome underdog movies. See where you can stream it on GoWatchIt.
MOVIE: Palo Alto
WATCH IT BECAUSE: You’re intrigued by the fact there’s another Coppola making films.
Emma Roberts, Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, and James Franco star in Gia Coppola’s (Francis Ford’s granddaughter and Sofia’s niece) directorial debut about suburban high school life. Based on Franco’s collection of short stories, Coppola takes inspiration from her aunt Sofia and adds her own flair to create a different kind of high school movie. See where you can stream it on GoWatchIt.
MOVIE: Stand Clear of the Closing Doors
WATCH IT BECAUSE: You’ve seen ads for it on the subway and decided to give it a shot.
An autistic boy tries to find his way home on the unforgiving NYC subway system as the city frantically prepares for Hurricane Sandy’s brutal hit. It’s an unexpected thriller that will make you think about your fellow commuters the next time you step on the train. See where you can stream it on GoWatchIt.
