Final Shots: ‘Harry Potter’ Spin-Off Closes In On A Director

Warner Bros. is ready to put its Harry Potter spin-off in trusted hands. The studio is currently in negotiations with David Yates, who helmed the final four movies in the fantasy series, to direct the first installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, reports Variety.  Announced last September, the series will foucs on Newt Scamander, the author of the Hogwart’s text book the series takes its name from. The movies will also mark Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling‘s screenwriting debut.
