Ryan Murphy is turning his attention from horror to crime. The American Horror Story co-creator is readying a companion series, American Crime Story, which will be based on shocking true crime tales. According to Deadline, the new show, which will also air on FX, will focus on the O.J. Simpson murder trial (specifically the take featured in Jeffrey Toobin’s The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson) in its first season. Like its predecessor (the fourth season of which premieres on Wednesday), the series will follow an anthology format, focusing on a new case every season.
