Fury star Shia Labeouf was well on his way to becoming the next Amanda Bynes just a few short months ago: mistaking paper bags for hats, taking strolls in the middle of press conferences, and who could forget the Cabaret incident, which landed him in the big house for a night. LaBeouf cleared the air on his recent arrest in a light-hearted, not scripted, not rehearsed at all appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

All drama aside, LaBeouf keeps bringing the drama, because once again he’s starring in a high-budget production among A-listers like Brad Pitt. Fury, David Ayer’s (End of Watch) new WWII action-drama, is out in theaters today. All kidding on Kimmel aside: Shia wants to make sure you understand how serious a subject war is before walking into the theater this weekend. To show you how much he means it, we’ve compiled the very, very concerned expressions of the actor from the start of his career. Furrowed brow included.
