Afternoon Delight

Afternoon Delight: ‘Lil Women’

It’s nearing the end of the week, and you’re desperate to throw in the towel and call it a day. Unfortunately, that goes against protocol in most workplaces, so here’s a little Afternoon Delight to keep you occupied until TGIF is a reality.

Enter: Lil Women. If sisters Meg, Jo, Amy, and Beth March had a laptop with a webcam, this is how Louisa May Alcott’s famous novel might have played out. The gals give us a peak as to what life was like at home during the Civil War. Spoiler alert: it was boring. The sisters cure their boredom in varying ways. Meg (Grace Helbig) likes to give smokey eye tutorials equipped only with a candle and a large match, Beth documents her latest ailments, Amy tries on various outfits, and Jo, the self-proclaimed feminist of the group, boasts her anti-establishment views about getting married and polishing silver for unhappily ever after.

PERIODS. Films have more fun, quippy web series like Lil Women, including the self-explanatory Talking With God and the slightly more mainstream Pilgrims. In addition to their successful web series, the DIY filmmaking collective has two feature films under their belt, Breakup at a Wedding and Holidaysburg, both available to stream on Amazon Instant Video.

Check out an episode from Lil Women below and stream the rest on their YouTube playlist.
