If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’re probably remotely aware that reigning pop/formerly country music princess Taylor Swift has a new album out. That LP, 1989, sold over 1.2 million copies in its debut week, making it the highest-selling album of 2014. This morning, Yahoo accidentally released the video for her latest single, “Blank Space”, early, and her YouTube has since uploaded it in light of the leak.

The song is her apparent retaliation to the public’s view of her as a “maneater,” and after watching the video, it’s hard not to notice the the similarities it shares with David Fincher‘s Gone Girl. The whole video feels like a riff on the “cool girl” speech, and T-Swift is definitely emulating some serious Amy Elliott Dunne while she parades about as “a nightmare dressed like a daydream.” Here are 10 times T-Swift totally channeled Gone Girl during Blank Space. (Also, Gone Girl spoilers ahead, of course.)

The Creepy Eye Contact Opener

Both Gone Girl and Blank Space begin with a stare-into-your-soul, there’s-no-fourth-wall-here sort of thing, and Swift does not shy away from giving you crazy eyes from the get-go, just like Amy Elliott Dunne.

The Happy Drink Exchange

Before everything falls apart, both T-Swift and Amy enjoy a drink across from their men (even if Amy’s more of a beer gal and Swift enjoys her rosé) with a wink and a smile.

The Romantic Dance Dip

Both Taylor and Amy get romantic dance dips with their respective partners! Though they definitely accessorized a little differently (where’s the blood, Taylor?), it’s safe to say both ladies enjoy a good slow dance.

The Diary Entries

Hey, Taylor’s surface of choice may be a tree, and Amy’s a journal, but they both like to write about their lovers in pretty permanent manners. “I got a blank space baby… and I’ll write your name.”

The Doting Side Gaze

T-Swift, like Amazing Amy, is super into looking at her man from the side in a kind of fond, weirdly suspicious way. It’s cute for now, but we know it can’t last, and so does Taylor.

The I-Just-Found-Out-You're-Cheating-On-Me Face

Well, it’s all downhill from here. Just like Amy seeing Nick with his college-aged GF outside ‘The Bar’, T-Swift catching her man texting another lady marks the end of pretty picnics and the beginning of box-cutters and kitchen knives.

The Arm-Swinging Screaming Match

T-Swift really goes for Amazing Amy here when she swings her arms around maniacally and gets in pretty boy’s face. Though this guy doesn’t push her into a flight of stairs in the Nick Dunne fashion, T-Swift does get to throw a vase of flowers at his head and cut his clothes up (and bites his lip a la Amy and Desi).

The Long List of Ex-Lovers...

“They’ll tell you I’m insane…” Sure, we never see T-Swift’s ex-lovers here, but doesn’t that bring to mind two faces from Amy’s past who claim she’s insane? Desi and guy who Amy apparently framed for raping her are totally on that long list of lovers.

The Cry Face

Amy’s mascara may have stayed a little more intact, but T-Swift totally lets loose and tears at her hair in a very Amy Dunne fashion while she sings about being insane and all that. She’s over being the “cool girl” (“find out what you want, be that girl for a month”) and she totally goes the Amy route in seeking revenge (lots of knives, hatchets, and a 9-iron)!
