Final Shots: HBO Finally Confirms Rachel McAdams And The Rest Of The New ‘True Detective’ Cast

After months of speculation, HBO has finally gotten around to confirming the cast for season two of True Detective. Joining the previously announced Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the second slate of episodes from creator Nic Pizzolatto are Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly, reports The Hollywood Reporter. McAdams will play the female lead, Ani Bezzerides, “a  Ventura County sheriff’s detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves.” Kitsch will portray a motorcycle cop trying to flee his past, while Reilly will appear as Vaughn’s wife, a former D-list actress with criminal ambitions. Production is set to begin later this fall in California. Unlike the debut set of episodes, this season will feature multiple directors, including Fast & Furious 6 helmer Justin Lin.
