Final Shots: Jared Leto Will Star As The Joker In ‘Suicide Squad’

Huge news from the land of comic book nerds just broke this evening when The Hollywood Reporter reported that Will Smith, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie have been confirmed to star in Suicide Squad. (We first saw the news on Pop Culture Brain.) Unless you’re deep into the DC Universe, you probably won’t know who Deadshot (Smith) or Rick Flagg (Hardy) or Harley Quinn (Robbie) are, but no matter your familiarity with the ins and outs of comic book culture, you will be interested to learn this: Jared Leto will be starring as The Joker. Yes, that very same Joker that won Heath Ledger an Oscar. Don’t get too excited yet, though, as this movie won’t be opening until August of 2016.
