Meet Queue: Krysten Ritter Is On The Verge Of Major Stardom

Birthday girl Krysten Ritter is on the verge of a moment. After making a name for herself in juicy supporting roles in popular shows like Breaking Bad and Veronica Mars, Ritter has finally secured herself a big movie career — she’s appearing in this month’s Big Eyes — and she’s going to be a superhero. Ritter nabbed the part of Jessica Jones for Netflix and Marvel’s big new superhero series.

Maybe you want to see what else Ritter has done or maybe you’re in the throes of developing a crush. Either way, we’ve compiled the five titles on streaming that will make you a wild and crazy Krysten Ritter fan. It’s kind of like a “meet cute” in a romantic comedy, but because it’s all streaming, we’re calling it your “meet queue.”

Veronica Mars (2005-2006)

After getting a string of bit parts on television and film, Ritter appeared as Gia Goodman on Veronica Mars. Goodman was sharp, fun, and a little bit shifty. These are all qualities that would come to define Ritter’s career over the next nine years.[Watch Veronica Mars]

Gilmore Girls (2006-2007)

Krysten Ritter was one of many big stars to get their start in a guest starring role on Gilmore Girls. Ritter played one of Rory’s friends in the show’s final season. And yes, she was very good at delivering the show’s the sharp dialogue. [Watch Gilmore Girls]

Breaking Bad (2009-2010)

While many critics consider Krysten Ritter to be primarily a comedic actress, she perhaps is best known to the public as the ill-fated Jane on Breaking Bad. Ritter only had a brief run in the second season of the ground-breaking drama, but her character’s romance with Jesse Pinkman and her eventual death represented a major moment for the lead characters. Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23 (2012-2013)

For most of her career, Ritter has been cast as the lead character’s best friend or love interest. That all changed in 2012, when she was cast as the eponymous bitch in Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23. The show was canceled after struggling in the ratings, but remains, like much of Ritter’s work, a critics’ favorite and cult classic. [Watch Don’t Trust The B—– In Apartment 23]

Listen Up Philip (2014)

Ritter cemented her “it” girl status earlier this year when she co-starred in the hip indie drama, Listen Up Philip. The film follows a novelist who escapes to his idol’s summer house to gain peace. Ritter plays said idol’s daughter. [Watch Listen Up Philip]
