Meet Queue: Cozy Up With ‘Frank’ Cutie Domhnall Gleeson Tonight

Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson is crushing it right now. He just appeared in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, is poised to become a major movie star in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and his latest indie flick, Frank, is coming to Netflix this week (but you can stream it on VOD now if you can’t wait until Thursday). Like we said, he’s crushing it.

Maybe you want to see what else Gleeson has done or maybe you’re in the throes of developing a crush. Either way, we’ve compiled the five titles on streaming that will make you a wild and crazy Domhnall Gleeson fan. It’s kind of like a “meet cute” in a romantic comedy, but because it’s all streaming, we’re calling it your “meet queue.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2010)

Eagle-eyed Harry Potter nerds were the first people to spot Domhnall Gleeson. The lanky Irish actor played Ron Weasley’s “cool” big brother, Bill. His character steals the heart of the the beguiling half-veela Fleur De La Cour and winds up being one of Harry’s most loyal allies in the fight against Voldemort. Anna Karenina (2012)

In 2012, director Joe Wright made a hugely ambitious and tremendously polarizing adaptation of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina. The film’s selling point might have been Keira Knightley and oodles of Chanel jewels, but it’s stand out performance came from Domhnall Gleeson. The actor was cast as the idealistic Levin, a stoic philosopher farmer who falls for the effervescent Kitty. [Watch Anna Karenina]

About Time (2013)

Domhnall Gleeson was positioned as the 21st century’s Hugh Grant in Richard Curtis’s sci-fi romantic comedy, About Time. Gleeson plays Tim, a sweet Brit who discovers that he has inherited the ability to travel in time. How does he use this awe-inspiring power? To woo Rachel McAdams, of course. [Watch About Time]

Black Mirror, “Be Right Back” (2013)

Yes, Domhnall Gleeson was in Black Mirror. No, we’re not going to stop hounding you to watch it. Yes, he’s Hayley Atwell’s dead lover who comes back as a sentient robot. No, we don’t want to think about that scene where he gets stewed to life in the bath tub like he’s a sea monkey. [Watch Black Mirror]

Frank (2014)

Gleeson charmed audiences world wide with his turn in the quirky indie, Frank. The film is about the eponymous Frank (Michael Fassbender), an eccentric rock star who refuses to remove a giant paper mache mask, but our entry into Frank’s world comes from Gleeson’s character, Jon. He’s a young musician who is enamored and bewildered by Frank’s strange take on the world. [Watch Frank]
