Last night, it was announced that Randy “Macho Man” Savage, one of the biggest stars of professional wrestling’s Golden Era in the 1980s, will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame on March 28, the day before Wrestlemania 31 is held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.

“Macho Man” died back in 2011 at age 58 of heart disease, so Hulk Hogan—his one-time tag team partner turned real life rival—will be giving his induction speech.

As someone who was in his prime formative years during the Rock ‘N Wrestling heyday, the news that “Macho Man” Randy Savage is finally being honored by WWE head honcho Vince McMahon (with whom he famously feuded) brings me endless amounts of delight. I stopped watching wrestling with any sort of consistency in the early ’90s, but memories of Savage and his high-flying elbow drop have been firmly burned into my brain’s internal hard drive, never to be erased.

There were a few years earlier this decade when I spent many a late night on my couch, perhaps overserved (and perhaps not), watching old wrestling matches on Netflix. When the WWE Network launched in February of last year, though, all those titles were sadly taken off the service. However, for the low, low subscription price of $9.99/mo, you can watch just about every single important match in the sport’s history on-demand via the wrestling behemoth’s SVOD (Subscription Video On Demand) service.

If you, like me, are jonesing for some “Macho Man” in his prime, might we suggest sampling either his legendary match against Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat from Wrestlemania 3 or his stone classic war with Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 5? Or, if you’re looking for something a little more bite-sized, watch our loving tribute reel, compiled by our own Brian Maxwell Mann (@BrianMaxMann), above!

Say it with me one more time: OOOOOH YEAH!
