Cheers! These BBC Titles Are Staying On Netflix

Earlier this week, rumors were circulating that hit BBC series would be disappearing from Netflix at the end of the month. Shows and movies come and go from the platform every day, but the bullocks this news brought had disappointed fans ready to binge the last few seasons of Doctor Who and Luther in a frenzy. Good thing rumors are only rumors, however, because it turns out these titles and a dozen others are staying put. Netflix has confirmed the complete list of what’s remaining on the platform.

  • Classic Doctor Who: 18 Collections
  • Copper: Seasons One and Two
  • Doctor Who: Seasons One-Seven
  • House of Cards: Trilogy
  • Keeping Up Appearances: Season One
  • Luther: Seasons One-Three
  • Monarch of the Glen: Seasons One-Six
  • North & South: Season One
  • The Buccaneers: Season One
  • The Office (UK series): Seasons One and Two
  • Torchwood: Seasons One-Four
  • Wallander: Seasons One-Three

You might be wondering, why such a quick turnaround? According to Netflix, a group of British series, including Happy Valley, The Honourable Woman, Call the Midwife, Top of the Lake, Shameless (U.K.), and Sherlock were never going anywhere in the first place, but got swept up in the rumor mill along with their BBC brethren amidst contract renewals. Bottom line: it’s all good. Sometimes contract renewals take a little while, but at the end of the day, Whovians can rejoice!
