What The Decider Team Streamed This Week

We spend a lot of time recommending plenty of great shows and movies to stream online, but what have the members of the Decider enjoyed in the last week? We’d like to share that with you, too — and tell you where to stream them, of course.

The Man in the High Castle

I kept hearing good things about the new Amazon pilot, The Man in the High Castle, so I thought I would give it a try. I thought it was beautifully shot and I love me a good historical fantasy. I hope Amazon picks it up because I’d like to see where the show is going. I also streamed a bunch of episodes of House Hunters International. Hey, does anyone know why a family has to move from Colorado to Spain to ensure their daughters are bilingual? Nobody? Okay, cool. —Meghan O’Keefe [Where to stream The Man in the High Castle]

Fantasia

I finally watched the original Fantasia from 1940 this week. It’s probably the most beautiful animation I’ve ever encountered. The scene with the fluffy dancing broomsticks is one of the coolest scenes ever. My brain simply cannot process how they made the perfect animation sans computers. If you really want to learn the true magic behind Disney or feel like you’re on drugs without the drugs, watch Fantasia! —Jaclyn Kessel [Where to stream Fantasia]

Archer

Everything about this show creeps me out, which is a cryin’ shame because the cast is phenomenal. I started the from the beginning and had to force myself to make it through two episodes. Maybe the fact that I started watching Bob’s Burgers first has something to do with the fact that I get shivers up my spine when I hear Bob’s voice coming out of Archer’s mouth, spouting about tits and cocks. IT’S TOO WEIRD. —Olivia Armstrong [Where to stream Archer]

Togetherness

This week I streamed the latest episode of Togertherness. I’m a big fan of Mark Duplass, but I saw more of him this week than I ever wish to see again. He’s seen some monetary success in his career by now…so may I suggest purchasing a membership to City Sun? Sheesh! Tan those butt cheeks, Duplass! —Terri Ciccone [Where to stream Togetherness]

Down Dog

The story of a newly single yoga instructor, Amazon’s new Down Dog pilot ticks off a number of SoCal boxes: sun, sand, weed, good vibes, and gorgeous bodies. So why do I, a semi-cynical, not-really-in-shape New Yorker who can’t really relate to any of that, like it so much? A lot of it is Logan, the likable lead who doesn’t know what to do with his life (but doesn’t let that bring him down). There’s also the quirky vibe, courtesy of Arrested Development-style narration, camera shots that linger (on, say, an entire yoga class exhaling), and, naturally, two buddies that help our Logan through tough times. Oh and the Rolling Stones’ “Monkey Man” soundtracking the intro and backstory narration? A winning touch. —Conrad Doucette [Where to stream Down Dog]
