Mysterious Red Hooded Photobomber Is Your Oscars MVP

Oscar night is in full swing and Decider has you covered. Click here for all our coverage of Oscars 2015.

One of the highlights of ABC’s otherwise staid Oscars Red Carpet pre-show was Robin Roberts’ interview with Taya Kyle, the widow of the real life American Sniper Chris Kyle. No, not because of anything that Mrs. Kyle actually said, but because of the appearance of the most amazing woman in Oscars history (tonight) in the background of this live shot.

“Um, who?” you ask. THIS LADY!

Who is this mysterious lady in red, this enigmatic photobomber of the red carpet? If we were to guess, we’d say that her lineage stems from Little Red Riding Hood and the murderous lady dwarf from Don’t Look Now. Who is she waving to? How did she position herself between two white columns so that her red raincoat would stand out so perfectly? What was up with that point at the end? How did she know the camera was on her at this exact moment? Did she get roughed up by security after the ABC producer cut to another camera? Questions abound!

Bottom Line: It doesn’t matter who takes home the Best Picture tonight, because Mysterious Red Hooded Lady just won the Oscars.

(Oh, btw, our humble thanks to Carol Hartsell for pointing this out on Twitter!)
