HBO NOW Is Now Live!

Just in time for a slew of season premieres this Sunday (including Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and Veep), HBO has launched their highly-anticipated stand alone streaming platform, HBO NOW.

The platform has launched to accommodate cable cord-cutters who still want to keep up with the premium cable channel’s award-winning content. HBO NOW will have the same amenities as HBO Go — which includes all of their past and present series, documentaries, sports specials, and late night programming — as of now (no pun intended), it’s available only on iOS products/Apple TV and Cablevision’s Optimum Online. In addition to HBO original programming, HBO NOW will also feature newly acquired movies every month. Currently, the service is running $14.99/month (although HBO is offering a free 30-day trial).

To help you get to know the service a little bit better before you delve in, here’s a breakdown of the fine print:

  • Like HBO Go, you’re free to share your password with whomever you please — college kids, rejoice!
  • Series episodes and movies will still be made instantly available as they broadcast on HBO.
  • There isn’t a limit to how many devices you can run HBO NOW on simultaneously.
  • Android compatibility is “coming soon” according to the website, but as of now there’s no set date.

HBO’s newsman John Oliver of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver also gives a quick low down on some of the perks of having HBO NOW.
