HBO Is Now Streaming On Sling TV

HBO has officially cut the cord! Not only is HBO Now officially up and running on Apple TV, but as of today, Sling TV users can also stream HBO.

Just last week, Sling TV promised us that HBO would be available to Sling TV users before Game of Thrones debuted this Sunday, April 12. Well, that day has come. As of today, Sling TV customers can add HBO to their service for an additional fee of $15/month. This is a big deal because until recently it was thought that HBO’s new standalone streaming service, HBO Now, would only be available to Apple TV users. While that is still true, the Sling TV deal means that Roku and Amazon Fire TV owners will be able to buy and stream HBO without having a cable television contract.

$15/month might seem a little steep (especially on top of Sling TV’s $20/month base subscription), but it’s only a penny more than HBO Now’s monthly subscription fee. Oh, and you can’t put a price on being able to legally stream HBO without the hassle of a cable contract.

Of course, you can still stream the Game of Thrones premiere (a few minutes later than everyone) on HBO Go. For more on Game of Thrones click here.
