Will New Ballet Drama ‘Flesh and Bone’ Be ‘Breaking Bad’ Meets ‘Black Swan’?

What do you do after you win an Emmy for writing one of the best episodes of television of all time*? Breaking Bad writer/producer Moira Walley-Beckett, aka the person who scribed “Ozymandias,” you take your penchant for drama and apply it to the high-stakes world of ballet.

Walley-Beckett is the creative force behind the new Starz limited series, Flesh and Bone The eight-hour limited series will follow Claire (Sarah Hay), a young dancer with a tortured past, as she tries to better herself by enrolling in a prestigious ballet academy. The series feels a bit more like Black Swan than Walter White, but it also has connections to the cult classic Center Stage. Sascha Radetsky (aka Charlie) stars in Flesh and Bone and Ethan Stiefel (aka Cooper Nielson) is the show’s choreographer.

The first trailer dropped today and offers grim palates, emotional outbursts, and tons of pirouettes. So, basically, count this nerd in.

Flesh and Bone is currently scheduled to debut on Starz on Sunday, November 8, 2015.
