It’s Wednesday, which means, it’s socially welcome to crush on your favorite lady. This week we’re head over heels for Younger star Hilary Duff in all her blue-haired glory.
WHO’S THAT GIRL?: Hilary Duff
WHAT’S THE CAUSE FOR WORSHIP?: The former Disney star just reunited with her long lost Lizzie McGuire pals, Lalaine and Jake Thomas. (Where the hell is Gordo?)
WHERE DO YOU KNOW HER FROM?: Duff stars alongside Sutton Foster and Debi Mazar in Younger: TV Land’s new hit comedy about a 40-year-old single mother (Sutton Foster) who tries to reinvent herself as a savvy twentysomething. The former child star got her big break as the wholesome title character of Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire, went on to make a film adaptation of the show, followed by the equally family-friendly Agent Cody Banks, A Cinderella Story, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Raise Your Voice. She and big sis Haylie then teamed up for Material Girls before Duff headed into indiehood followed by motherhood and marking a mainstream comeback on Gossip Girl and, now, Younger.
WHEN YOU’RE GOING TO SEE HER NEXT?: In addition to starring in the second season of Younger, Duff is set to star in ensemble comedy Flock of Dudes alongside Chris D’Elia, Hannibal Buress, Marc Maron, and Kumail Nanjiani.
WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Since the Lizzie McGuire days, millions of girls grew up wanting to emulate the charisma and crimped hairdos that Duff flaunted on the series. When fellow Disney darlings Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera started to sex up their image, Duff remained in the spotlight as a role model for young women, letting her image mature along with her. You go, Hilary.
