Are you still thinking about that crazy sexy prison scene from this week’s Game of Thrones? In case you missed it, Bronn (Jerome Flynn) found himself jailed opposite the Sand Snakes, and Tyene (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) took a shine to his singing voice. The one thing she wasn’t thrilled about? His instance that she wasn’t the most beautiful woman in the world.
So, Tyene did what all jilted women would do in the same situation: she stripped down naked and revealed that the dagger that gave Bronn a simple flesh wound was also tipped with a deadly poison. If he didn’t change his mind and admit that she was in fact the most beautiful woman in the world, she would refuse him the antidote. Needless to say, Bronn (and half of the show’s audience) soon fell under Tyene’s charms.
Tyene’s big scene was also a big moment for 19-year-old Italian-American actress Rosabell Laurenti Sellers. While she’s not a household name here, she has appeared in a number of Italian shows and films (including an Italian adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank). Oh, and she did star in one squeaky clean children’s show called Mia and Me that aired on Nick Jr. last year. That’s right. If Tyene looked at all familiar to you, it’s probably because you saw her on a cute kids’ show.
Mia and Me was produced by an international production company and stars Sellers as an orphan girl going to school in Florence. Her game designer father left behind a special game based on a book called “The Legend of Centopia.” By using a personalized password, Mia can gain entry into the magical CGI world of Centopia, where there are elves, unicorns, and yes, dragons. The show flips between live action and CGI, and Sellers’ character is our protagonist in both worlds. Mia and Me was produced back in 2001, so we estimate that Sellars would have been 14 or 15 years old at the time.
The first two seasons of Mia and Me are available for purchase, or you can stream selected episodes and clips for free using the Nick Jr. App or by visiting nickjr.com. It’s a cute show, but we get it if you’d rather just rewatch last week’s amazing episode of Game of Thrones again.
