On Sunday, June 21, families the nation over will be celebrating Father’s Day. Yes, for one glorious summer Sunday each and every year, we pay tribute to the men responsible for our very existence, mainly by gifting them with ties, power tools and BBQ equipment. This year, however, Decider will be stepping things up a notch and honoring one lucky fictional TV character with the title of BEST! DAD! EVER! (aka #BestDadEver).
Yes, that’s right, for all of the love and support we’ve gotten from our actual, real life dads, the fictional fathers that we’ve all spent time with on our television screens have definitely played a major role in shaping our worldviews, too. So over the course of the next dozen days, you will be able to cast your vote(s) in our Best Dad Ever bracket tournament. Using whatever personal criteria you decide to employ, take a spin through the four different “regions” that we’ve come up with that represent the plethora of paternal instincts we’ve seen displayed in our living rooms over the last 50 years and change. We’ve broken things up into Animated Dads, Thoughtful Dads, Funny Dads and, yes, even Tough Dads.
You can start voting NOW in the Best Dad Ever bracket, so be sure and get to casting your votes right away — voting for the first round of the Best Dad Ever bracket will close at noon on Monday, June 15.
