New and exclusive content isn’t the only way Hulu is looking to change its identity. It’s also shortening its name, sort of. On Tuesday the streaming service announced that it was dropping the “Plus” from its premium subscription service. “We’ve had a blast with our old friend Plus but it’s time to move on,” the company wrote in an email to subscribers. ”We just wanted to let you know that we are retiring the Hulu Plus name. From now on, we will just be known as Hulu. No ‘Plus.’” The name change won’t result in any changes to the service – free content isn’t disappearing or anything — the company just wants to simplify things a little.
