It’s Wednesday, which means it’s socially acceptable to crush on your favorite lady. This week, we’re head over heels for comedienne Jenny Slate as we await the second season premiere of FX comedy series, Married. Click on any of the links to see where you can stream Slate’s TV and filmography.

WHO’S THAT GAL?: Jenny Slate, sometimes Marcel the Shell

WHAT’S THE CAUSE FOR WORSHIP?: Slate stars as Jess on Andrew Gurland’s Married, the new season of which premieres on FX and FX Now tomorrow night at 10. A beer-guzzling, no-nonsense straight-shooter out to prove herself despite her party animal antics, Jess is trophy wife to Shep (Paul Reiser) and BFF to both Russ (Nat Faxon) and AJ (Brett Gelman), who all desperately need her to keep them in line (though they’ll never admit it). Though the cast is nothing to sneeze at whatsoever, Slate is without a doubt the breakout regular, bringing her A-game to every scene and showing off her often under-appreciated comedic range.

WHERE YOU KNOW HER FROM: After a season-long appearance on Saturday Night Live back in 2009, Slate starred on HBO’s cancelled-to-soon Bored to Death before voicing characters in Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and the Dr. Seuss adaptation, The Lorax (not to mention her YouTube sensation, “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On“). Slate returned to HBO for another ill-fated (albeit arguably brilliant) series, Hello Ladies, before breaking further into the mainstream as a regular cast member on House of Lies, Parks and Recreation, Bob’s Burgers (does the name Tammy ring any bells?) and Kroll Show. The actress had critics buzzing last year in Gillian Robespierre’s abortion comedy Obvious Child in which she played Donna, who, while reeling from a horrendous breakup, gets knocked up by the perfect guy (Jake Lacy) after a one-night-stand.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER NEXT: Slate is set to appear alongside Parks and Rec co-star Adam Scott in upcoming comedy My Blind Brother. Continuing her work as a voiceover artist, Slate will also be featured in animated The Secret Life of Pets, due out next summer. After that, you’ll see her in indie comedy Joshy opposite Silicon Valley‘s Thomas Middleditch, Nick Kroll, and her Married co-star Brett Gelman before she channels her dramatic side for the Susannah Cahalan biopic Brain on Fire, which chronicles a month in the life of a woman spiraling into madness. In the meantime, you can catch Slate on Married, available on Hulu and FX Now after the premiere.
