Watch This Exclusive Clip From ‘Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise’ On PBS

Educators and environmentalist rejoice! Now streaming in preliminary release is Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise, a brand new mini-series from PBS chronicling the restoration of wildlife in Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park. Prior to its three-part linear TV release beginning September 22, PBS is offering its streaming audience the opportunity to watch all six episodes, free of charge, starting today across a variety of platforms. Through the PBS app, you can catch the series on Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, XBOX 360, and for those without an over-the-top console, all six episodes are also available on pbs.org.

Part of PBS’ “Family Sneak Preview Week,” the release of Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise follows Emmy-winning filmmaker Bob Poole (Great Migrations) in his ambitious quest to document the revival of one of Africa’s most cherished natural habitats after the advent of civil war nearly destroyed the area. For teachers, environmentalists, and animal activists alike (or, if you’re just really into nature documentaries!), Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise is a must-watch journey, especially if you were moved by Planet Earth, Life, or Netflix’s hard-hiting documentary, Virunga, which also follows the dangerous quest to protect Africa’s national parks and natural resources. Educators can also take advantage of the corresponding education materials available on PBS Learning Media.

Before you watch tonight, check out this exclusive clip below following Gorongosa Park veterinarian, Rui Branco, who’s responsible for monitoring the health of the reserve’s wildlife, including the park’s lion population — making for a rather atypical day’s work.
