We’re less than a week away from Wednesday, October 21, 2015, which is a date film nerds will recognize as the day that Back to the Future‘s Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) travels forward to from 1985. The world that Marty encounters is different from that of the 1980s: You can travel via hover boards, the Cubs have finally won the World Series, and kids are obsessed with the pop culture of the past. Today, oddly, there are hovercraft (of a sort), the Cubs are on their way to the World Series, and we are still talking about 1980s hallmark Back to the Future.

Noted New York retail chain PiQ is celebrating Back to the Future‘s auspicious day (and 30th anniversary) by hosting a special “Welcome To The Future” event tonight at their Rockefeller Center location. The quirky shop — which boasts New York City’s largest collection of Back To The Future merchandise — will have a flying DeLorean and two actors from the original film on hand. Donald Fullilove (Mayor “Goldie” Wilson) and James Tolkan (Principal Strickland) will both be at the store tonight to meet and greet fans. We got an exclusive tour of PiQ from the actors themselves.

If you can’t make it out to PiQ, don’t fret! You can still celebrate Back To The Future whenever and wherever you are. The entire trilogy is streaming on Prime Video for the entire month of October. The future is here! Now, let’s see if the Cubs can clinch the series…

Welcome to the Future is a one-night event being held TONIGHT, October 15th, 2015, at P!Q’s location at Rockefeller Center. You can meet Principal Strickland (James Tolkan) from 5-7pm and Mayor “Goldie” Wilson (Donald Fullilove) from 5-11pm.
