The ‘Manhattan’ Team Spills Details On Their Favorite Secret Easter Eggs

There are a lot of reasons why Manhattan is such a phenomenal show. The show’s transcendent ensemble features the likes of John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Richard Schiff, Game of Thrones’ Harry Lloyd, and House of Cards’ Rachel Brosnahan. Its incandescent writing juggles highfaluting physics with deep interpersonal drama. But really, Manhattan‘s secret sauce is how incredibly detailed and researched it is.

Now, that may sound boring, but all those little facts, flourishes, and details make the show come to life in a both a gritty and awe-inspiring way. When you watch Manhattan, you almost feel as though you’re watching a strangely dramatic documentary about the lives of the people behind the atomic bomb. Production designer Ruth Ammon, historical consultant Alex Wellerstein, and science consultant David Saltzberg are the ones tasked with making Manhattan come to life. So, what are their favorite touches? We got a chance to ask the cast and crew on location in Santa Fe, New Mexico this summer. Check out the video below to find out what they said!
