Netflix has snagged the streaming rights for Star Wars: The Force Awakens…but only in Canada. The reason why the movie will only available for our neighbors to the north is become the movie doesn’t fall under the exclusive deal the streaming service stuck with Disney earlier this year, reports Variety. The studio’s current deal with Starz covers movies produced through the end of 2015, and since The Force Awakens comes out December 18, it’ll only be available on the premium cable channel for a while. In the mean time, Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos said last week that the company is in talks with Disney about the possibility of licensing prior movies in the franchise.
