Jimmy Kimmel brought his late-night talk show to Brooklyn last week (and probably some HILARIOUS PRANKS, too!), and he wrapped up his week-long residency at Brooklyn Academy of Music with a send up of the borough’s evolution since Spike Lee’s breakthrough masterpiece Do the Right Thing turned its lens on the conflicting cultural attitudes in his hometown back in 1989.

Featuring an impressive (and perfect) cast, which includes Zooey Deschanel, Jay Duplass, Andrew Rannells, Alex Karpovsky, Rami Malek, Billy Crudup, at least three people I’ve seen at a sketch show at UCB, and even Rosie Perez, who recreates her famous role as Tina, Do the White Thing pretty much nails how Brooklyn has become super gentrified (even if it relies on a lot of predictable hipster jokes).

Of course, Jimmy Kimmel Live isn’t the only late-night comedy show to poke fun at Brooklyn’s white-washing. Earlier this year, Saturday Night Live also produced a sketch that takes place in Bushwick and shows how ridiculously artisanal the neighborhood has gotten.
