‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ Cast Shares What It’s Like Working With Demi Lovato

As its second season comes to a close, Robert Rodriguez‘s crime-laden vampire romp From Dusk Till Dawn leaves us reeling in its wake, thanks to a bloody ten-episode stretch and a slew of guest stars, including Grindhouse hero Danny Trejo, The Brink‘s Esai Morales, and, among many more, international pop princess, Demi Lovato.

Between her new album release, a Saturday Night Live appearance, and a nude, unretouched Vanity Fair spread, it’s safe to say Lovato is everywhere lately, including Rodriguez’s Austin-based El Rey Network. Since the director was the mind behind her latest music video, “Confident,” and longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama is a From Dusk Till Dawn regular, it was only a matter of time before we saw singer turned actress participate in the bloody crime series based on Rodriguez’s 1996 film of the same name. Lovato plays no-nonsense hellraiser Maia, who gives Richie Gecko (Holtz) a run for his money while trying to take down Malvado’s (Esai Morales) culebra empire.

After chatting about film-to-TV adaptations, the movie that scared them (and scarred them) the most, and whether they prefer tequila or mezcal, I chatted with From Dusk Till Dawn stars Eiza González, D.J. Cotrona, and Zane Holtz about working with Lovato and Rodriguez’s gaggle of guest stars.

Catch Lovato and the rest of the cast of From Dusk Till Dawn Tuesdays at 9 PM on El Rey Network and Sling TV. Episodes are available to stream the next day on Amazon Instant Video and iTunes. Season One is available to stream on Netflix.
