New Japanese Trailer For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Is Jam-Packed With Glorious New Footage!

Star Wars fans got a huge surprise this morning when a brand new Japanese trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit YouTube. Lucasfilm had assured the masses that the big trailer that ran during Monday Night Football on October 18 was going to be the last trailer before the film’s December 18, 2015 release date. Apparently, they were lying.

The trailer — which is completely in English, but with Japanese subtitles — features remixed scenes from earlier trailers along with a massive amount of new dialogue and intriguing details. Rey reveals to BB-8 that she’s waiting on Jakku for her family, but there’s no confirmation on whether that means she’s a Skywalker and/or Solo. We get more of hint of Kylo Ren’s agenda. He says here, “I will fulfill our destiny,” and we watch him brandish his lightsaber in various settings. There’s more of Leia, more of Finn, more of BB-8, more of Maz Katana’s voice…there’s more of everything! Except for Luke Skywalker. We still haven’t seen a official still or clip of the legendary Jedi warrior — nor have we seen a glimpse of Andy Serkis’ Supreme Leader Snoke (unless, of course, you think those Jar Jar rumors on reddit are true).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens premieres in theaters on December 18.
