R.I.P. Don Vito, The Creepy Uncle Of The ‘Jackass’ Crew

Vincent “Don Vito” Margera, Jackass and Viva La Bam star, has passed away at the age of 59, TMZ reports.

Don Vito first gained infamy on his nephew Bam Margera’s underground video series, CKY (Camp Kill Yourself). His loud and obnoxious personality, in combination with his nearly unintelligible speech patterns, quickly made him an audience favorite during those heady Jackass years. His popularity blossomed to the point that he was cast in a prominent, recurring role on Bam’s mid-Aughts reality show, Viva La Bam.

His career as an entertainment personality came to an abrupt end when he was convicted in 2007 on charges of sexually assaulting two 12-year-old girls. He was accused and ultimately found guilty of inappropriately groping the girls during an autograph signing session in Colorado. He never served prison time, but his sentencing required that he forever retire as appearing as “Don Vito” in public.

According to TMZ, Margera had been in a coma since last month after suffering for years from kidney and liver disease. He was 59.
