John Oliver On Paris Attackers: “F*ck These A**holes”

Last Week Tonight host John Oliver wasted no time Sunday night in addressing the terrorist attacks on Paris. The mass shootings and scattered suicide bombings that crippled the French capital on Friday, November 13, have since been attributed to members of extremist terrorist group, ISIS, and are the deadliest in France’s history since World War II.

Oliver, who often welcomes controversy, made Paris an immediate point of discussion in his opening recap of the week. The British host then touted how thankful he was to have a series on HBO so that he could truly express how he felt about France’s attackers. “After the many necessary and appropriate moments of silence, I’d like to offer you a moment of premium cable profanity.” To a quietly stunned crowd, Oliver then delivered one of his most powerful and passionate rants of late. “First… As of now, we know this attack was carried out by gigantic fucking assholes. Unconscionable, flaming assholes. Possible working with other fucking assholes. Definitely working in service of an ideology of pure assholery.
