After a two-year hiatus from television, Beasts of No Nation star Idris Elba is back in an all-new trailer for acclaimed BBC detective drama, Luther. The exciting new tease features the native Londoner in the titular role of John Luther, a troubled investigator on the hunt for a deranged and dangerous serial killer.
Back for two new, hour-long episodes beginning Thursday, December 17 on BBC One, Luther picks up where Season Three left off: with our brooding lead determined to leave police work behind for a shot at normalcy. Any hope for peaceful retirement is a shot in the dark, however, if this new, deadly killer has anything to do with it. It’s up to Luther and his rookie partner, Emma Jones (Rose Leslie), to track down the man terrorizing London. Scottish actress Leslie — best known as Jon Snow-seducer, Ygritte, on HBO’s Game of Thrones — is replacing Ruth Wilson‘s (The Affair) Alice Morgan in the role of supporting actress.
