Final Shots: Amazon Picks Up New David E. Kelley Legal Drama ‘Trial’

David E. Kelley is returning to TV, but this time it’s not for a network. The creator of Ally McBeal, Picket Fences and Boston Legal is taking his next legal drama to Amazon, reports Variety. Entitled Trial, the show will follow a down-and-out lawyer, played by Billy Bob Thornton, determined to redeem himself. The show also stars William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby, and Maria Bello. No premiere date has been set yet.
