Netflix Is Reuniting ‘The First Wives Club’ Stars Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, and Goldie Hawn

It’s been nearly 20 years since The First Wives Club brought together Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, and Goldie Hawn to take out sweet revenge on their exes, and now thanks to Netflix we’re going to get another feature film starring those same three screen legends. Divanation will star the actressing trio as, according to Deadline, members of a once-popular singing group forced to reconnect after their volatile split and 30 year estrangement.”

The film has yet to sign a director, but the script is by Lisa Addario and Joey Syracuse, who penned the 2012 Bette Midler/Billy Crystal film Parental GuidanceDivanation marks Netflix’s further march into the feature film realm. They got started this year with Beasts of No Nation, will continue with Brad Pitt’s War Machine in 2016, and are in development on the Jane Fonda/Robert Redford vehicle Our Souls at Night.

While Divanation is still in the assembly stage, there’s no reason you shouldn’t start warming up for its arrival. I’d recommend daily repetitions of the “You Don’t Own Me” scene in The First Wives Club
