Without further ado (and a-ho ho ho), we present The Ultimate Holiday Showdown, a bracket-style tournament to determine the best pop culture moment that the month of December has ever produced. It’s a climactic Christmas battle for the ages. Buddy. Charlie Brown. An elf’s tale of self discovery versus the ‘true meaning of Christmas.’ IT’S ON.
Decider’s Ultimate Holiday Showdown began with 32 holiday classics. Now, we’re down to two: Elf, which emerged from the ‘Modern Holidays’ quadrant, and which took out Miracle On 34th Street in the Frosted Four, versus A Charlie Brown Christmas, which easily handled its face-off with Home Alone after surviving a scare with Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer in the round of eight.
