What’s New On Movies On Demand This Weekend: ‘Spectre,’ Meryl Streep, Pokemon, ‘Snow White,’ And More

Though we haven’t reached snowpocalypse territory, this weekend is going to be a cold one, especially if you’re up North. You talk a good social game, but we know that you really want to be curled up in bed, streaming movies this weekend. Don’t worry; we’ve got your Snuggie-coated back. We’ve combed through iTunes, Amazon Video, Vimeo, M-Go, Vudu, and more to bring you the best of what’s new this weekend. Whether you need to play James Bond catch up or you have the urge to watch every Pokemon movie in existence (weird urge, but we get it), the movies available on demand this weekend are sure to make your time off better. Stream away, friends.

THE NAME IS BOND: ‘SPECTRE’

If you missed this year’s big Bond box-office blitz, you’re in luck. You can spend this weekend pretending to be a secret agent or ogling Daniel Craig — whichever comes more naturally. Starring Craig, Monica Bellucci, Christoph Waltz, and a beautiful theme song that’s guaranteed to be stuck in your head (embedded above), this is one 007 installment you don’t want to miss.

FOR THE KIDS: ‘SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS’

The Disney classic is finally available to purchase, so if your digital Disney collection has been feeling bare, that’s about to be remedied. There’s a really good chance you’ve already seen this one several times, so here’s some trivia for you: there was some dispute over using the name “Dopey” because it was too modern of a word for a classic fairy tale. Now we’ve both learned something about this 1937 classic.

WHEN YOU’RE FEELING EMPOWERED: ‘SUFFRAGETTE’

Set in early 20th-century Britain, this historical drama chronicles the growing suffragette movement through the lives of its working class women leads. There’s discrimination, class struggles, anger, and too many fierce ladies to count, so it’s not really what you need to watch if you’re in a laugh out loud mood. However, it is a watch that will make you want to question the system and stir some stuff up. Also, the film stars Carey Mulligan (The Great Gatsby, Shame), Helena Bonham Carter (Harry Potter and basically every Tim Burton movie), and Meryl freaking Streep, so you know it’s good.

99¢ iTunes Rental: The End of the Tour

Starring Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel, this is the deadpanned pseudo-celeb comedy you probably heard about but forgot to watch. Eisenberg plays a journalist who interviews David Foster Wallace for Rolling Stone magazine. That’s right; a movie about fake Mark Zuckerburg interviewing the man behind the pretentious book all of our college boyfriends claimed to have read exists, and you can watch it for less than a dollar. Life is good.
