Stop writing your Rory Gilmore romantic fan fiction now—Matt Czuchry will be joining Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival to reprise his role as Logan Huntzberger. The addition of Huntzberger, or the Mr. Rory Gilmore that never was, to the reboot, is sure to reignite cries of “Team Logan!” across the globe. If you open you window and listen very closely, you might hear the chant echoing somewhere in the distance. You might also hear a lot of boo-ing, after this week also bought us news that Melissa McCarthy would not be rejoining the cast as everyone’s favorite Sookie.

Season Seven of Gilmore Girls left off with Rory rejecting Logan’s marriage proposal and “All The Single Ladies”-ing herself out into the world. The question on every Gilmore Girls’ fans lips is whether Logan will turn out to be the best thing Rory never had, or if he’ll be able to throw his shopping bags up, Pretty Woman style, and declare “Big mistake. Big. Huge.” Show runner Amy Sherman-Palladino noted that the Gilmore Girls revival wouldn’t ignore the timeline of the original show and its last season, so I’d prepare for some awkward “oh-no-there’s-the-guy-who-I-rejected-and-now-I-have-to-work with him/go to his wedding/am getting sued by him” (etc., you get the picture) style shenanigans.

Meanwhile, Sherman-Palladino also told TV Line that while Rory would be big into the dating scene (I’m currently cringing thinking of all the quippy Tinder storylines that could evolve), “Our plan is to get as many of [Rory’s] lovely men back as possible. We’re still dealing with who’s going to be in it. We definitely want to see them. And we have storylines planned. I just need someone to tell me they’re going to show up.” Personally, I’m hoping that either Jared Padalecki can take a break from shooting Supernatural or maybe they can bring some werewolves to Stars Hollow for a crossover special. Either way, Rory Gilmore is in for a really, really uncomfortable trip down memory lane. Or who knows? Maybe “Mr. Right” was under Rory’s nose the whole time…
