We’re almost exactly one month away from the world premiere of Pee-wee’s Big Holiday on Netflix. The new feature-length film — the first since 1988’s Big Top Pee-wee — sees Pee-wee inspired to leave his friendly, idyllic hometown of Fairville and go on a vacation into the big, weird world.

There’s a bit of a go-with-the-flow aspect to this premise, of course. It’s not like Pee-wee’s never left home before. The entire premise of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure is that he crossed the country — from the basement of the Alamo to a Hollywood sound stage and back — to find his precious bicycle. But when the call to leave home is inspired by a chance meeting with Joe Manganiello, as we see in the above trailer, it’s really hard to quibble. Honestly, you’d fall under his spell if he came sauntering into your diner like this too.

It’s probably too much to hope that Manganiello delivers a mini-mart strip tease in Pee-wee’s Big Holiday like he did in Magic Mike XXL, but for the next 31 days, hope springs eternal.

So where’s Pee-wee headed on his big holiday? Looks like he may be New York City-bound, if this shot of his Volkswagon is anything to go by.
(p.s. Punch-buggy blue, no punch-backs.)

Elsewhere in the trailer, we’re promised pillow fights, snake farms, a mobile hair salon, skateboarding with grannies, dangerous rapids, and a possible homage to Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!  All in all, everything you might want out of a Pee-wee Herman movie.

Pee-wee’s Big Holiday comes to Netflix on March 18th.
