Final Shots: Google Chromecast Was The Most Popular Streaming Device of 2015

Still trying to figure out which streaming device is best for you? Last year, nearly 15 million Americans decided to go with the Google Chromecast, according to a new study cited by Variety. Strategy Analytics found that Chromecasts made up 35-percent of the 42 million streaming devices “shipped” last year, followed by Apple’s Apple TV. While the Google device may have claimed the crown for 2015, it still trails behind Apple’s box for the all time lead. Apple TV has sold 37 million units since its 2007 launch, whereas the Chromecast has sold 27 million since 2013.
