When Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit theaters in December 2015, the film introduced the magical world of Star Wars to a whole new generation and gave us a brand new intergalactic heroine named Rey. Daisy Ridley ran away with the film and left us puzzling over a whole new mystery: Who are Rey’s parents?!?!? The Force-sensitive scavenger clearly has a bigger connection with the greater Star Wars universe. We have our own theories about who Rey’s mother might be, but one super popular theory is that she must be Luke Skywalker’s secret Jedi love child.

Well, Mark Hamill is clearly aware of the online chatter and he might have accidentally confirmed the rumors at a recent event at the Oxford Union. About 35 minutes into an hour-long chat, Hamill talked about working with Ridley, saying, “I just adore her. And she’s roughly my daughter’s age and that’s how I relate to her.”

The crowd immediately rumbled and Hamill egged them on by acting as though the group had caught him revealing secret intel. “I knew you smarties would drag it out of me!” Hamill said before giving a teasing wink.

This is also coming on the heels of Hamill also saying Luke might be gay or bisexual, but neither situation wouldn’t make it impossible for him to conceive a child, especially in a galaxy far, far away with its own magic and mystery.

Of course, Hamill wasn’t revealing that Rey is Luke’s daughter, just that the actress is of an age with his own, and that’s how he’s built an off-screen relationship with her while working on Rian Johnson’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII. Still, we think the actor do protest too much and that there could be something to the theory…
