Happy Wednesday! You know what that means. It’s that time of the week where you can unabashedly declare which ladies you’ve been hardcore crushing on. At Decider, we like to make a weekly point of saying ‘YAAAS’ to a badass member of Team Woman, and today our queen is Netflix champion and one of the stars of The Characters, Lauren Lapkus.

Chances are, you already know who Lapkus is though you don’t realize it yet. Lapkus is one of those comedy chameleons who mostly plays back-up but is loaded with scene-stealing one-liners and shade-throwing looks. The latter description especially relates to Lapkus, who is a pro when it comes to conveying a world of emotions and thoughts into one pinpointed look. Lapkus’ most recent role was as one of the creators in the recently released original, Netflix Presents: The Characters. However, astute Netflix watchers already know her face. Lapkus played the lovably human prison guard Susan Fischer in Orange is the New Black. It’s time to get to know this spotlight-stealing supporting comedian and her recent transition to the spotlight.

WHO’S THAT GAL?: Lauren Lapkus

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: For a while now, we’ve seen Lapkus stealing the show from her background roles. However, her recent Netflix special has proven that Lapkus has a great comedic voice and that she needs more screen time. Lapkus’ comedy world equally balances relatable humor in her insane and overly exaggerated universes. Dear Netflix, give Lapkus her own show so I can watch her play more cursing teenage boys. Please and thank you.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: So very many places, but she’s probably most recognizable from her aforementioned role as Susan Fischer on Orange is the New Black. Susan’s doe eyes and genuinely sweet personality made us fall in love. Not an OITNB fan? Then you probably know Lapkus from her role in Jurassic World, where she played Vivian, one of the park technicians who was unsuccessfully courted by coworker, Mr. Dino-Toys-on-His-Desk (not actual character name). She’s also been on Comedy Bang! Bang! as one of her characters, Whitney Peeps, guest starred on Another Period, and was in Are You Here, which also starred Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler, and Zach Galifianakis.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER NEXT: Currently, Lapkus has been providing several voices on the critically acclaimed and all around perfectly bizarre HBO show, Animals. Other than than, Lapkus a few other projects on her calendar, the first being her Comedy Bang! Bang! tour. Lapkus is also starring in Pete Holmes’ upcoming HBO comedy, a semi-autobiographical show called Crashing. Crashing is also directed by Judd Apatow, and given Apatow’s track record with comedy series, we’re guessing this one will be good. Other than that, Lapkus will be in the musical comedy, One Shot, which also stars Topher Grace. Basically, Lauren Lapkus is going to be all over 2016, which is making us say “YAAAS.”
