One of the most infuriating things about The Walking Dead is how it can take forever to tease out a good evil villain. Case in point: We’ve been hearing buzz for months about Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s nefarious Negan, but we won’t meet him until the 90-minute-long season six finale, ominously titled “Last Day on Earth” on April 3. However, thanks to the internet, fans are getting their first sneak peek at the character — and his infamous sidekick “Lucille.”
Wetpaint has located a Dutch television commercial hyping the finale. The clip has some spoiler-filled scenes featuring Rick, Carl, and Morgan, but most importantly, we get to “meet” Negan. Now before you get too worried about ruining the big reveal, we only get to see the character from the back and side. The clip seems intent on prolonging the suspense as long as possible.
Much like Michonne and the Governor before him, Negan is a fan favorite character from the comics. He is introduced in later arcs as a stark reminder of how the world is becoming more and more dangerous, and less and less hospitable for rational men. Negan is famous for his weapon of choice: a barb-wire covered baseball bat he calls Lucille. Looks like both are set to make a big splash in the season six finale.
