UPDATE (11:14 P.M.): In a statement, an HBO spokesperson told Decider: “There were a small number of HBO NOW subscribers receiving an error message. The problem was quickly recognized and resolved.”
Tonight is the highly anticipated Season 6 premiere of Game Of Thrones, and not surprisingly, thousands upon thousands of people are attempting to watch the episode via their HBO Now and HBO Go accounts. Unfortunately for HBO and its subscribers, Twitter is overflowing with people’s complaints about their inability to access the service this evening to watch what’s up in Westeros.

Additionally, we spotted more than a few complaints from people saying that they were locked out of their accounts, possibly because others had gained access to their passwords:
Famously, at the Emmys last fall, Andy Samberg created an HBO Now account and gave out the login information live on television. Thousands of people logged into that account, and HBO laughed off the matter, saying that password sharing “has no impact on the business.” After our New York Post colleague Claire Atkinson reported in February that less than a million people had signed up for HBO Now in its first year of service, perhaps now HBO is cracking down on accounts with multiple people using passwords simultaneously?
More on this developing situation as it comes in…
