As part of a series of deals with Netflix, Univision will soon air the streaming platform’s original series Narcos on its linear television network. The Spanish network will also air Netflix’s Spanish language series Club de Cuervos via UniMas. According to The Wall Street Journal, however, the deal does not include on-demand or streaming rights. Additionally, Univision will also co-produce the planned El Chapo series for Netflix, which is aiming for a 2017 premiere.

Whether inadvertently or not, the revolutionary deal creates a brand new outlet for both past and present original content produced by some of today’s biggest streaming-only platforms. For Netflix, the deal serves to introduce and encourage Hispanic audiences to sign up for the platform. For Univision, who paid a nominal fee for the rights to air the content, the deal serves to bolster their declining ratings.
