Donald Trump made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and it was surprisingly interesting and revealing. Kimmel did a better job grilling him than most other hosts have, at one point even calling him out for being “full of shit” — and Trump had to agree!
But the most interesting moment to come out of the interview was when Trump shared his thoughts on Bernie Sanders. While he relates to Bernie because the system is “rigged” against them as candidates, he is more than happy to debate him, with one stipulation: he pays up. Trump said he would debate Sanders if he made a donation to charity, and would even be willing to do it if the network that carries the debate made the donation. No matter what your political affiliation, it is kind of hard to agree with his logic here. And if you are Team #ImWithHer, it might be hard to watch, but it would certainly be interesting to see the two dudes duke it out. (Adding fuel to the fire, respected political writers like New York‘s Jonathan Chait are suggesting that this could be a very real possibility.)
