Final Shots: Netflix’s Marvel Original Series ‘Luke Cage’ To Debut At Comic-Con

Netflix and Marvel have revealed today that their co-effort Luke Cage will debut some preview footage at San Diego’s upcoming Comic-Con. Mike Colter, who stars as the lead in the original series, will also be in attendance at the San Diego Convention Center from July 21-24 alongside showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker and co-star Alfre Woodard.

According to Deadline, Luke Cage’s love interest Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) — who has her own Netflix series — will not be in attendance. Marvel’s Luke Cage is set to premiere on Netflix on September 30. The brand new series centers around the Harlem fugitive who possesses super-human strength and unbreakable skin. It also stars Mahershala Ali, Sonia Braga, Frank Whaley, Simone Missick and Theo Rossi.

Lauren Graham of Gilmore Girls, who will also appear in Netflix’s revival series Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life, would like to let you know that all episodes of the original series will be available on the platform worldwide as of July 1. The early release will serve to prep viewers for the reboot, which is due later this year:

Amazon’s Prime Video is now offering a new line of Dolby Vision content supported by both formats of HDR. Not to be confused with the 4K HDR content released last year, the new format claims an even higher video quality and includes Season 2 of Bosch, as well as the films The Smurfs 2, Men in Black 3, Salt, FuryPineapple Express, and Elysium. Netflix is reportedly falling behind local SVOD streaming services in Australia like Stan and Presto, no longer claiming the lead for fastest-growing streaming service. The new report also claims that Aussies are really into streaming with 2.7 million total active subscriptions expected by the end of June. [Mashable]

ICYMI: Hulu released an official teaser for Season 4 of the platform’s original dance drama, East Los High. The emmy-nominated series will return on July 15.
