Final Shots: Netflix To Next-Day Stream New CBS ‘Star Trek’ Series Worldwide

Netflix announced today that it has teamed with CBS International to offer a next-day stream of each new episode of the network’s forthcoming Star Trek reboot. As part of the landmark licensing deal, the highly anticipated series will be made available to subscribers in 188 countries around the world — excluding the United States and Canada. We’ll have to watch the show on CBS All Access.
According to a press release, the new deal also includes exclusive streaming rights to all 727 existing episodes of the iconic Star Trek television franchise. Netflix subscribers worldwide will have access to Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise by the end of 2016. The all-new Star Trek series will begin production in Toronto in September and is slated for a January 2017 premiere.

The standalone episode, which will air this Friday, July 22, will bring back legacy cast members including Craig Manning, Paige Michalchuk, and Liberty Van Zandt, among others.
