You guys, The Rock isn’t happy. Yesterday afternoon, that 44-year-old actor and wrestler posted on Facebook about his last week of filming Fast 8. The post initially started as a nice love letter to the franchise, studio, and his female co-stars before throwing some serious shade on his male co-stars. In case you were wondering, no. Dwayne Johnson has zero tolerance for candy asses.
Fast 8 is, I’m sure you’ve guessed, the eighth installment of the monumentally popular Fast and Furious franchise. These movies have been going on for a while now, and they essentially make all the money every time a new installment is released. This is all to say that Dwayne Johnson’s Facebook rant has been liked over 77,000 times and already has over 2,000 comments. In the rant, Johnson has nothing but love for his female co-stars, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, and Jordana Brewster. However, he was less than kind when it came to his male co-stars. By all accounts, Dwayne Johnson seems to be a delightful person to work with and celebrity to admire. The internet is practically glowing with praise for Johnson, which is rare because the internet is typically a cess pool. If this celebrity angel is calling someone out, that person must have really messed up. So who is The Rock talking about? Let’s break it down.
Vin Diesel
Diesel has been a staple of the franchise from the beginning, and he’s been in the industry for a long time. But according to Screencrush, there have been rumors of a Johnson / Diesel rivalry. Diesel may be a candy ass, but I don’t think it’s likely.
Jason Statham
Statham and The Rock did have that epic onscreen fight that bled into real life. In an interview with MTV, Johnson said he could kick Statham’s ass. However, Statham is typically pretty professional. I’m going to say probably not a candy ass.
Ludacris
Luda is another actor who has been in the franchise for a while (five movies now). As epic as a Ludacris / Johnson feud would be, I don’t think it’s him. Johnson has referred to Ludacris as one of his boys on a few occasions on social media, and you rarely hear stories about Ludacris’ crazy behind-the-scenes antics. Ludacris is probably not a candy ass.
Scott Eastwood
We’re diving into candy ass territory. Eastwood is brand new of the Fast and Furious franchise, and he has the ego of a rising star fused with the ego that comes from being part of a royal celeb family. All of this combined probably makes him a nightmare on set. Probably a candy ass.
Tyrese Gibson
Tyrese has made some … let’s call them interesting choices. If you want to know what I mean, just look through his Twitter. (If you want a summary, this article does a good job) The point is, if Tyrese is known for making questionable choices on a public front, he’s likely annoying behind the scenes. I think we’ve found our unprofessional candy ass.
