Afternoon Delight: Cure Your Munchies with Mario Batali’s ‘Moltissimo’

What better way to prepare for the fast-approaching weekend than by indulging in the some of the Internet’s most well-done web content? Take advantage of your lunch break and treat yourself to Afternoon Delight, Decider’s carefully curated picks of the best short-form content available on the world wide web. This week we’re spotlighting Moltissimo, a new web series from Vice‘s food channel Munchies hosted by chef/restauranteur Mario Batali.

Shot at Vice headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, the series stars super chef Batali as he cooks up a plethora of dishes for a series of celebrity guests. The trailer hints at guests like Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Vice journalists and more, but the first episode kicks off with Rosie Perez and Vice reporter Ben Anderson. Batali excitedly scours the rooftop garden for vegetables and herbs, and eventually decides to cook dishes based on personal experiences from his guests.

This fun, snappy little series is a delight for foodies and normal folk; Batali’s sense of humor and culinary prowess makes it a joy to watch, and how he interacts with his guests gives the show an additional layer that many cooking shows lack – we get to learn a little bit about everyone’s history. With the dishes Batali dreams up, you’ll also have your food porn cravings satisfied – it’s hard to find creativity like his anywhere else. There will be seven episodes in the series, and each of them will feature well-known guests that Batali will cook for. So sit down, relax, and dig in – Batali’s got you covered.

Check out the first installment above, and stay tuned to Munchies for future episodes!
