He’s Really Done It This Time: Donald Trump Has Officially Offended Tom Hanks

It probably happened a long time ago, but during an interview for his new film, Inferno, Tom Hanks had to let it be known, he is quite offended by Donald Trump.

“You hear about the election that we’re having? Did you hear about this? It’s crazy this year, isn’t it?” Hanks asked the reporter for the Press Association. Well Tom, it only continues to get crazier.

When the audio of Trump’s gross comments before the taping of an Access Hollywood segment leaked last week, it was the only thing anyone could talk about. And that applies to A-list actor and general good dude, Tom Hanks. “He was at work, man. He wasn’t in a locker room. He was at work. He was showing up to do a thing on camera,” he explained.

“I’m offended as a man. I’m not offended as a husband or a father. I’m offended as a guy. That’s just not right, I’m sorry. It’s not right at work, it’s not right in the locker room. It’s wrong, period. The end. That’s all.”

He went on to sum up this election with analogy that couldn’t help but bring back memories of one of the yuckiest scenes from his film, Cast Away. “It’s kind of like if you have a horrible, painful tooth, and you need a root canal. Who are you going to see? A guy who says, ‘Oh, I think I can figure that out, how to do a root canal for you. Lay down,’” he said. “Or are you going to see somebody who’s done 6,000 of them? Has a degree on the wall and has a great history and expertise when it comes down to it.”

Tom will have his chance to make fun of this election next weekend, when he returns for the ninth time to host Saturday Night Live on October 22nd.
